22th Mar, 2025

The Bagoong Festival Kalutan Ed Dalan 2025 in Lingayen was a memorable and exciting event that brought together people from various locations along with tourists, to celebrate the town’s rich culture and heritage particularly its famous bagoong (fermented shrimp paste). This year’s Kalutan Ed Dalan was a true reflection of the community spirit with a large turnout and participation from both locals and visitors alike.

One of the significant highlights of the event was the involvement of Parrots English, who proudly joined the festival’s Kalutan. Their participation added an extra layer of excitement to the celebration as they contributed to the lively atmosphere and helped showcase the importance of supporting local traditions.

A key moment during the event was the lighting ceremony of the Kalutan, which marked the official start of the festival. The guest of honor, Senator Risa Hontiveros, led the ceremony. Holding a torch, she lit the Kalutan, signaling the commencement of the day’s festivities. Senator Hontiveros was joined by Mayor Leopoldo Bataoil, Vice Mayor Mark Dexter Malicdem and other local officials of Lingayen. Together, they walked the entire length of the Kalutan, from the very first line to the last, greeting attendees and showing their support for the festival.

The event was a true celebration of community and culture. The streets were filled with excited festival-goers, many of whom were eager to try the different food offerings, enjoy local entertainment and witness the cultural performances. The presence of tourists added an international flair, further highlighting the festival’s appeal beyond the region.

This year’s Kalutan Ed Dalan was not only a celebration of Lingayen’s famous bagoong but also a symbol of unity and cultural pride. With the participation of local government officials, businesses like Parrots English and the community, the event proved to be a successful and joyous occasion for everyone involved.

As the festival came to a close, the spirit of the Kalutan Ed Dalan continued to resonate, leaving everyone excited for the next year’s celebration and eager to continue supporting the rich traditions that make Lingayen such a unique and wonderful place.
